Las Vegas Orthodontist answers question about Childrens Orthodontics

When should I start thinking about orthodontic treatments/exams for my child?

In the age range of 6 to 12 – when the child’s adult teeth begin to arise and malocclusions begin to appear. According to the ADA, the ages of 8 to 14 is when orthodontic treatment should begin and can have the biggest impact on the children’s dental health. We recommend for your child orthodontic treatment to begin at the age of 7. At this age we suggest pediatric orthodontics – because they have a combination of their permanent teeth and baby teeth so we can contain problems with teeth and jaw growth that could be harmful to your child’s dental health. Regular dentistry and orthodontics examinations are very important for the child’s health.
